Your Score: Longcat

68% Affectionate, 40% Excitable, 46% Hungry

Protector of truth.

Slayer of darkness.

Loooooong.

Longcat may seem like just a regular lengthy cat, but he is, in fact, looong. For proof, observe the longpic.

It is prophesized that Longcat and his archnemesis Tacgnol will battle for supremacy on Caturday. The outcome will change the face of the world, and indeed the very fabric of lolcatdom, forever.

I'm posting this everywhere I can because we need all the good thoughts we can get.

He's been sick for a week now, and hospitalized for most of that time. His vets still can't figure out specifically what is wrong despite extensive tests, and he doesn't seem to be responding well to the treatments they are trying. My husband got him to eat a bit yesterday, but he vomited again last night. He is just not keeping any food down or in, and that's not good. We are at a loss.

Please think good thoughts for our kitty. Help us to love him back to health again. We want him to come home. His sister misses him. We miss him. We love him very much, and we just want him well again. Thank you.
13th-Dec-2005 02:02 pm - Dress Stress
jenblossom wedding lillies
Cross-posted from my website.

So the absolutely gorgeous dress I ordered for the wedding arrived yesterday, and it fit like a dream... everywhere except the bustline. It's not at all workable (trust me, I tried).

I cried, I ranted, I cursed my genetic endowments, and then I realized I had a decision to make. I've spoken to the customer service people at J. Crew (AWESOME, all), and I can return the dress for either a refund or exchange.

With 38 days until the wedding, the clock is ticking. There are two contenders:

Sophia is one option. It's the same lovely material as the Avery dress I initially chose, the same price, and it provides more coverage up top. But a friend has chosen the long version of this dress for her wedding gown, and I just don't know if it would be too weird of me to wear basically the same thing.

Whitney is another option. The material is a silk faille, which is the same as the Navy blue Emma dress I'm wearing to my firm's holiday party on Friday. It's got great clean lines and a somewhat retro shape, which I love, but it's a little less formal, I think, than the Sophia. And it costs a little bit more. But... tulle underskirt! So cute!

Anyway... I could seriously go either way. Help me choose?

Any day that starts with you dropping a brand new roll of t.p. into the toilet when you're reaching for it, and continues with weirdos on the T, and spilling half of your iced coffee into your purse, can not be a good one.

I posted a really nasty pretend letter to someone I work with, but I thought better of it and deleted it. I mean, I doubt very much that anyone I work with reads this, but I guess... I'm over it.

Stupid people, you have been spared. For now.

I've had this sort of... partial quote floating around in my head for the last several days. I couldn't quite place, it, though I knew it was from a movie. Thanks to IMDB, I've found the source, and wouldn't you know it, it's from one of my old faves, When Harry Met Sally:

Harry Burns: There are two kinds of women: high maintenance and low maintenance.
Sally Albright: Which one am I?
Harry Burns: You're the worst kind. You're high maintenance but you think you're low maintenance.

I think I've become Sally Albright. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Okay, so I was taking a break from my typical last-days-of-the-month regimen of time entry, time entry, and more time entry, and as I am wont to do, I was clicking on random links on the blog page of my sweetie's website. And I realized, as I was reading some of these pages he's linked to, that my boyfriend is WAY COOLER THAN I WILL EVER BE. I feel like an illiterate buffoon next to him.

Siiiiiiiigh. I guess at least I've got that *cute* thing going for me.
